Enjoy river boardwalks with their opportunities for fishing ,viewing the birdlife, or merely soaking up the peace and tranquility of a river that once boasted a wharf and relied upon the ketch 'RIPPLE' to deliver stores, carry mail and take the towns supply orders. A river that once was the life blood of a small town . Home to the disappearance of 'THE LADY OF SWAMP', a local mystery still unresolved today, the village of Tarwin Lower today boasts the Baldhills Wetlands where migrating birds can be observed at dusk; local markets, crafts and arts, golf, tennis, boating, cycling, river fishing, accommodation and eateries. Tarwin Lower, home to the longest picnic table along the banks of the Tarwin River and home to the Annual Labour Day Weekend 'RIVERFEST' festival.
