| This
little coastal township right on Corner Inlet's sandy beaches is the
place for those who love mucking around with boats. With a network
of jetties, landings and slips, there
is always some type of marine action taking place. On a summer's
afternoon it's not unusual to see 100 boats launched or retrieved at Port
Welshpool's all-weather, all-tide boat ramps. |

" The Long Jetty" |
| Port
Welshpool has memorable picnic spots along the foreshore and also offers
the visitor a very safe
swimming beach. Be sure to take your fishing gear and try your
luck. The favorite spots are either from the Long Jetty or the sea
wall near the boat ramp. |

Port
Welshpool
has served as the base for a very
successful fishing industry for many years and very recent activity
suggests that many of the professionals from Lakes Entrance will be moving
here. The new owners of the Seapak fish processing factory have also
promised new jobs in the near future.
