This new architect-designed house has stunning views, location and facilities. A 3-bedroom very stylish and comfortable holiday house, it can accommodate up to six with three queen-size beds, and one or two additional children can be accommodated with single trundle beds. All quality linen and towels are provided

 

   

It is less than 10 minutes by foot, or 2 minutes by car, from the beautiful South Walkerville beaches – one of Australia’s best-kept secrets.

   
   

The house is adjacent to farmland and protected coastal reserve, populated by protected Australian birds (kookaburras, rosellas, exquisite wrens and finches) and marsupials (wombats, wallabies, koalas, pygmy possums), and regularly visited by water birds (herons, ducks, moorhens, sea-eagles). There is a superb panoramic view across Waratah Bay to Wilson’s Promontory from the living room and upper deck, and stunning views from all three bedrooms.

   
   

The large combined living/dining room can seat up to ten for meals. The room also has two luxurious lounges, two commodious armchairs, two coffee tables, and features an ultra-safe wood-burning cast-iron stove (for cooler evenings). Entertainment is available from a 53 cm TEAC TV, a DVD player and a TEAC music system. A beautiful large Afghan rug enhances the polished, craftsman-built nail-less hardwood floor.

 
The kitchen is equipped with electric stovetop, microwave, oven, blender and toaster, and two fridges. It has crockery, cutlery, cups and glasses for up to ten guests; a double sink and a wide range of saucepans, steamers, frying pans and coffee-making and tea-making equipment.

 
 

The master bedroom on the upper story has a queen-sized bed, powerful reading lamps, and large windows for natural lighting (and capturing the stunning view). A special feature is the walk-in adjoining private dressing room. Adjacent are a bathroom with shower, and a separate toilet.

 

The second and third bedrooms, on the lower floor, have queen-sized beds and additional single trundle beds. All bedrooms windows have specially treated glass to reduce glare and mimise heat loss, quality blinds – and great views over tranquil farmland and the coastal reserve. All bedrooms have reading lamps and adjustable electric oil-based heaters. The adjacent bathroom has a shower, hip bath and laundry facilities. There is a separate toilet on each floor, convenient to the bedrooms.

 

Little expense has been spared in providing a high quality, low maintenance holiday house with generous facilities – and an eye to privacy and security. All floors are polished hardwood, and the two protected decks are jarrah timber. Each floor has its own bathroom and a separate toilet, convenient to the bedrooms. The house has a single secure entrance door, a lock-up garage, and a carport protected by movement-sensitive external lighting. All furniture, fittings, kitchen equipment, TV, video player and music system are brand new. A new washing machine, ironing board, electric steam-iron and clothes lines (external and internal) are provided. The new 50,000 litre rainwater tank provides superb drinking water and the associated electric hot-water system provides ample showers and wash-up water all year round. Quality bedlinen and towels are provided for guests as part of the rental.

 

The house is carefully insulated to suit the range of coastal climate conditions, from hot summer days to cool winter nights. Windows are positioned to circulate summer breezes. Specially treated glass in the major windows of the living room and bedrooms reduces glare and minimises heat transfer. Adjustable electric oil-based heaters are provided in the bedrooms, and an attractive ‘pot-belly’ wood-burning stove is a feature of the living room.

The protected upper deck has Western Australian jarrah outdoor furniture and a portable gas-operated barbecue.
