With panoramic views of Corner Inlet and Wilsons Promontory, Landing Cottage, just out of Foster, is ideal for small families or groups of up to four people for memorable holidays right in the heart of the Prom district.

Landing Cottage is located beside the historic Stockyard Creek boat landing, first established by the Foster district's pioneering timber-cutters, gold-miners and farming families from around 1870, and now used by local and visiting recreational fishers to access Corner Inlet.

Landing Cottage is set amid almost a hectare of magnificent gardens overlooking grazing land, the lower reaches of Stockyard Creek, the Inlet and the Prom away to the south.

There are extensive lawns ideal for games, and pathways winding through dense beds of familiar and more unusual varieties of plants to shady seats and hidden water features.

Polished timber floorboards and lead-light French doors are features of the Cottage's comfortable living room, as are the wide picture windows framing the Prom and the cosy wood fire.

Guests will also find a colour television, a DVD player, a stereo system, books and reverse-cycle air-conditioning.

The combined kitchen and dining area also enjoys a vista of the Prom as well as a garden outlook.

Sealed timber bench-tops echo the traditionally-shaped dining table and chairs, and the breakfast bar stools.

The kitchen has a range of quality equipment and appliances, including a gas hob, an electric oven, a microwave, a spacious refrigerator/freezer, and a kettle and toaster.

There is also a good selection of crockery, cutlery and glassware and cooking utensils, along with other kitchen essentials like tea-towels and detergent.

The Landing Cottage's main bedroom is furnished with a queen-sized bed fitted with an electric blanket and reading lights, with all bedding, pillows, linen and towels provided.

The second bedroom has two single beds, again with electric blankets and all bedding, linen and towels

The timber-lined and tiled bathroom has an almost nautical feel, with its wall-light, a glassed-in shower cubicle, and a hand basin with brass taps.

The bathroom also includes an impressively-deep and inviting bath.

There is a separate toilet, and a laundry with an automatic washing machine, an iron and ironing board and an outside clothesline and pegs

Landing Cottage is quiet, private and full of charm, and has every modern amenity, including a telephone for local calls, and dial-up and wireless broadband internet access.

People of all ages will enjoy exploring its rambling gardens and nearby Stockyard Creek, and the many places of interest to be found in and around Foster.

Landing Cottage is close to the gate of Wilsons Promontory National Park, and the ocean beaches at Sandy Point, Waratah Bay and Walkerville.

Other local highlights include the fishing ports of Port Franklin and Port Welshpool, Shallow Inlet, the Cape Liptrap lighthouse, and Tarra-Bulga National Park.
